The Host!!! :)

Ok guys this has got to be one of my all time favorite books! After I read the book I watched and OMG! It was amazing, but I will always think the book is better because they a lot more details in the book then in the movie. By the way I know this sounds weird, but this was my comfy book! :)

In this book a girl named Melanie Stryder, her brother Jamie Stryder, and your boyfriend Jared Howe are going through a alien apocalypse with aliens called souls. In this book I would hate to be Melanie and Wanda (the soul that takes over Melanie's body) because Melanie is trapped in her own body while another substance contra it. Melanie is able to get some say in what her body does but not a lot. I don't know about you guys but I would hate to be trapped in my own body while someone else is controlling it. I think what I learned most about this story is the bond between Melanie and Wanda. Which is kinda ironic if you ask me that she actually forms a bond with the alien that takes over her body but she does.

They form a tight bond because Melanie thinks that Wanda takes really good card of her body so in the end Melanie doesn't want Wanda to leave. I personably think that is amazing to form a bond with one another and that it would help a lot if they did. In the book they go through a lot of hard times like when Wanda likes another guy named Ian but Melanie still had feelings for Jared so Melanie doesn't like the fact that Wanda likes someone else. If I was Melanie I know I wouldn't be ok with it either, because it would still be my body and I would like control not someone else that I didn't even know. Unfortunately the girls still have other obstacles a head of them both.

They also have a lot of trouble with seekers (high class souls like doctors) this specific one knows what it's like to have the host fight the souls from taking over their body, so she wants Wanda so she can help her so she could take full control of Melanie's body. If I was Melanie at that point I would not be okay with it all because I would like to have control of MY own body. The seeker follows wanderer around to see if she would lead her to the other resistance. As you can see Wanda and Melanie face a lot of obstacles that come at them, but they work together as one to clnquer them. Thanks guys soooo much for reading! I hope you enjoyed this post and go check out The Host by Stephenie Meyer! :)

THE LIFE OF PI!!

In this book a teen named Pi and his family (mom, dad, and older brother) travel to Canada after there father sold their zoo that they owned. The thing was that they had to take their zoo animals with them on a ship to Canada. In the book Pi has to find courage and hope that he would find land after being on a small boat with little supplies and a large Bengal tiger named Richard Parker.

I don't know about you guys, but I would've been scared the whole time. Being only 14 and being on a boat for  227 days with a Bengal tiger just doesn't set well with me, but some how Pi managed to do it and knowing that he would never see his family again. Pi did a lot of amazing things in this book, like for one thing he mange to keep himself together after his whole family dying and he couldn't do anything about it. If I was him I would've cried everyday. He also was able to keep himself and Richard fed and alive. The thing that amazes me the most is that he kept himself and the Bengal both alive for 227 days. I can't even imagine being alone for that long.

He also had to watch Richard Parker eat the zoo animals that were able to survive that climbed on the boat eat them all. I would have been traumatized if I saw that because I love animals and I wouldn't be as to survive that. Pi was also able to protect himself from the tiger. If this all happened to me I probably wouldn't have lasted more than two days with a tiger on board, because he probably would have eaten me by then but lasting 227 with it nope wouldn't have been able to. Believe it or not  Pi had to face bigger promlems than a man eating cat talk about sharks! With a small like his I wouldn't been able to survive the sharks either.

For one thing you are on a small boat with a tiger and your surrounded by sharks. How would you take that? Probably not as good as Pi, because he was smart enough to find stick thing and try to ward off the sharks. As idiotic as this sounds I might have just into the sea with the sharks because I wouldn't do what Pi was doing...thinking. He thought about what to do with the sharks he thought about how to tame Richard Parker he thought of everything! And I know that other would just freak out thinking they were gong to die now yes Pi did think that at first but then thought well if I don't try to live and think about everything I will die. And so he thought about and survived even with all the dangers coming his way.

Hey guys! I hope you enjoyed this and go check out the Life of Pi by Yann Martel! :)

Maze Runner!

The Maze Runner, the first one in the series, is a adventurous book with lots of twists and turns. There is this guy named Thomas, but the thing is that is all he remembers because he memory is completely erased when going to the glade (the place that he arrives at). He ends up making a friend name Chuck and unfortunately a enemy named Gally. Thomas soon discovers that if you work together you could conquer anything.

Thomas finds this out by many reasons. First, when Thomas ends up becoming a runner, a person that tracks down how much farther the maze could go until the gate protecting them from the greivers closes, him and two of the other boys, Minho and Alby, get trapped in the maze and are forced to stay the night in it. During the night Alby (which is the leader), who originally try to keep them safe gets scratched by a griever while Thomas was trying to get him up over the wall. They try several things to get  the greivers away from Alby like they string him up  to a wall by using the vine that is strung up everywhere, but they find out the had way that greivers could actually climb! But in the end,  Thomas and Minho protect Alby the whole night while ending up killing  a greiver and surviving the hole night in the maze. That is one of the few reasons how Thomas finds out that team work can conquer anything.

Another time when he learns about team work is when they team up to make certain decisions, like who would run what in the glade. For example, someone would be the cook or the butcher. They also make other decisions like where would someone sleep and things like that. For Thomas's part they had to see if he would be capable of being a runner and would he survive, or even what they should do with him after everything starts going crazy, like when the maze's gates don't close when its supposed to and each night one of the grievers takes a boy each night. As you can see the people that live in the glade have to team up to make very seious decisions. This is another reason that Thomas learns about team work.

Another of the few reasons how Thomas learns about teamwork is when all the runners actually tried to figure out the maze. Before Thomas arrived all they did to figured out the maze was run through to track down how far it goes, but with Thomas they started thinking harder about it like seeing if there were any hidden passages to get out or if there were any signs to show them how to escape because Thomas pushed them harder to trying to find a way home. They all worked hard as a team to try to get  all of them home. They still did the running through the maze to see how long it lasted, but they analyzed the maze harder. That is the last reason how Thomas learned about teamwork! :)

Thanks guys for reading! I hope you guys go check out The Maze Runner! :)
